DpC is an iron-chelating agent. In four separate human pancreatic tumor cell lines, DpC significantly increased the expression and phosphorylation of the growth and metastasis suppressor, N-myc down-stream regulated gene 1 (NDRG1) and the cdk inhibitpr p21CIP1/WAF. DpC completely blocked PANC-1 tumor growth in mouse xenografts.
The present study aimed to investigate the antitumor efficacy of di-2-pyridylketone-4-cyclohexyl-4-methyl-3-thiosemicarbazone (DpC) and di-2-pyridylketone-4,4,-dimethyl-3-thiosemicarbazone (Dp44mT) on head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) cells. The proliferation and apoptosis of HNSCC cells treated with the iron chelators DpC and Dp44mT were

N-MYC downstream-regulated gene-1 (NDRG1) is a potent growth and metastasis suppressor that acts through its inhibitory effects on a wide variety of cellular signaling pathways, including the TGF-β pathway, protein kinase B (AKT)/PI3K pathway, RAS, etc. To investigate the hypothesis
Tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) plays a vital role in cancer progression as it is associated with inflammation and promotion of cancer angiogenesis and metastasis. The effects of TNFα are mediated by its downstream target, the oncogene lysine-rich CEACAM1 coisolated
Neuroblastoma is the most common childhood extracranial solid malignancy. Although cancer cells need iron and lipids for active cell division, possible links between iron and lipid metabolism in neuroblastomas have not been studied. We evaluated the levels and association between
N-myc downstream regulated gene-1 (NDRG1) is a potent metastasis suppressor that plays a key role in regulating signaling pathways involved in mediating cancer cell invasion and migration, including those derived from prostate, colon, etc. However, the mechanisms and molecular targets
