The gene SPRY2 (Sprouty homolog 2) is mapped to human chromosome 13q31.1. SPRY2 localizes in the cytoplasm and co-localizes with microtubules.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human SPRY2
Application
Anti-SPRY2 antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blotting at a concentration of 1.0μg/ml.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Sprouty proteins are inhibitors of receptor tyrosine kinase signaling proteins and mediators of organogenesis, branching of lung alveoli and endothelial tubes. They inhibit the activity of Ras/Erk pathway. SPRY2 (Sprouty homolog 2) is bimodal regulator of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)/mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling. SPRY2 is down-regulated in epithelial ovarian cancer. Down-regulation of SPRY2 in high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma promotes EGF-induced E-cadherin levels, thereby resulting in cell invasion.
Sequence
Synthetic peptide located within the following region: MEARAQSGNGSQPLLQTPRDGGRQRGEPDPRDALTQQVHVLSLDQIRAIR
Physical form
Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

Sprouty proteins are evolutionary-conserved modulators of receptor tyrosine kinase signaling, deregulation of which has been implicated in the pathophysiology of cancer. In the present study, the expression status of Spry2 and Spry4 proteins and its clinical relevance in human epithelial
Sprouty (SPRY) proteins are well-characterized factors that inhibit receptor tyrosine kinase signaling. Our Human Exonic Evidence-Based Oligonucleotide (HEEBO) microarray results showed that the mRNA levels of SPRY2, but not of SPRY1 or SPRY4, are down-regulated in high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma

13q deletion is characterized by a wide phenotypic spectrum resulting from a partial deletion of the long arm of chromosome 13. The main clinical features are mental retardation, growth retardation, craniofacial dysmorphy and various congenital defects. Only one recent Italian

Sprouty (Spry) was first identified in a genetic screen in Drosophila to be an antagonist of fibroblast growth factor and epidermal growth factor (EGF) signaling, seemingly by inhibiting the Ras/MAP kinase pathway. Data base searches lead to the identification and

Sprouty proteins are involved in organogenesis, particularly during the branching of endothelial tubes, and existing evidence suggests that Sprouty's point of action lies downstream of receptor signaling to inhibit the activation of the central Ras/Erk pathway. How Sprouty proteins accomplish
