General description

Diethylene glycol monoethyl ether (DEGMEE) is an organic solvent commonly used in the cosmetic industry. Its toxicity has been assessed. Various thermodynamic and optical parameters of an aqueous solution of DEGMEE have been determined. Its quantification along with diethylene glycol (DEG) and coumarin in food samples by gas chromatography-flame ionization technique has been reported.

Application

  • A cautionary note on the effects of laboratory air contaminants on ambient ionization mass spectrometry measurements.: Highlights the influence of diethylene glycol monoethyl ether as a common laboratory contaminant that can affect the accuracy of mass spectrometry analyses, underscoring the importance of controlling environmental variables in high-precision analytical settings (Kumbhani SR et al., 2017).

Carvedilol, a widely prescribed cardiovascular drug for hypertension and congestive heart failure, exhibits low and variable bioavailability owing to poor absorption and extensive hepatic first-pass metabolism. The current research work, therefore, entails formulation development of liquid self-nano-emulsifying drug delivery systems
