The PTFE Beakers are made with pure, virgin material that meets FDA and USP Class VI requirements. The chemical resistance of PTFE is comprehensive over its working temperature range, with limited reaction to certain compounds with free electrons and halogens. Additionally, the thermal stability of PTFE is excellent, allowing its use up to approximately 280°C without embrittlement. The material does not thermally degrade until about 400°C and does not melt into a liquid phase. Moreover, PTFE is intrinsically pure, conforms to USP Class VI and FDA requirements, and is insoluble in all known solvents except under extreme pressure and temperature. It also does not contaminate media by dissolution. Lastly, PTFE can be sterilized by all usual means except gamma radiation.
