General description

Activated carbon (AC) is a three dimensional highly microporous structure with high surface area. AC can be prepared from various carbon precursors, such as lignite, peat, wood, coal etc. AC powder is popularly used in adsorption or at catalyst support. The adsorption capability of activated carbon is determined by its pore size distribution, purity and degree of carbonization, surface chemistry. Method of activation also influences the final properties of the product. Activated carbon prepared from lignite are hard textured with small micropore volume and high pore size distribution.4 It is used as a carrier for catalysts and possess good filtering properties.
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This product has been enhanced for energy efficiency. Click here for more details.

Application

Activated carbons may be used in:
  • Separating gas mixtures, such as; hydrogen-hydrocarbons,
  • Gas drying;
  • Selective gas adsorption
  • Gas storage
Activated charcoal Norit may be used in recovery of lithium for recycling lithium- ion batteries. It may be used to study the adsorption isotherm of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol (TCP). 6 Activated carbon may be used for ultrapurification of water, such as removal of anti-anxiety drug diazepam (valium) from spiked wastewater.

Cell-to-cell communications are critical determinants of pathophysiological phenotypes, but methodologies for their systematic elucidation are lacking. Herein, we propose an approach for the Systematic Elucidation and Assessment of Regulatory Cell-to-cell Interaction Networks (SEARCHIN) to identify ligand-mediated interactions between distinct cellular compartments.

Our team of scientists has experience in all areas of research including Life Science, Material Science, Chemical Synthesis, Chromatography, Analytical and many others.
