General description

A kit of NIST traceable ethanol standards suitable for calibration of ethanol testing methods. These Certified Reference Materials are widely used in forensic analysis and clinical toxicology applications for determination of blood alcohol content.

Application

  • Green extraction of natural products: Ethanol-10 is used in a green extraction process to recover polysaccharides and phenolic compounds from vegetable by-products. This study highlights the use of high-purity ethanol for pharmaceutical research, specifically for extracting valuable compounds from natural sources efficiently and sustainably (Khatib et al., 2023).

  • Protective effects of grape seed extract: Ethanol-10 is used to extract active compounds from grape seeds and skins, demonstrating its effectiveness in protecting against lung damage in rats. This application showcases the utility of Ethanol-10 solvent for biochemistry experiments and pharmacological studies (Khazri et al., 2022).

  • Cancer research and immunity modulation: Ethanol-10 is used in extracting Andrographis paniculata for cancer research, focusing on its immune-modulating properties. This study underlines the importance of pharma grade Ethanol-10 for extracting bioactive molecules in cancer therapeutics and molecular biology (Valdiani et al., 2022).

  • Bionic layered structures for corneal repair: Ethanol-10 is used in a controlled solvent evaporation technique to fabricate a collagen film with a bionic layered structure. This application of Ethanol-10 reagent in scientific laboratory analysis is crucial for developing new biomaterials tailored for personalized medical treatments (Ji et al., 2022).

In brewing and ethanol-based biofuel industries, high-gravity fermentation produces 10-15% (v/v) ethanol, resulting in improved overall productivity, reduced capital cost, and reduced energy input compared to processing at normal gravity. High-gravity technology ensures a successful implementation of cellulose to ethanol
