General description

Ascentis Express HPLC columns, through the use of Fused-Core® particle technology, can provide you with both the high speed and high efficiencies of sub-2 μm particles while maintaining lower backpressures. The combination of high efficiency and low backpressure benefits UPLC® (or other ultra high pressure system) users, as well as conventional HPLC users.
Visit the Ascentis Express home page for more information on this new column technology.

Application

  • Recent trends in ultra-fast HPLC: new generation superficially porous silica columns.: This review explores the evolution and performance of superficially porous silica columns in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), including those similar to the Ascentis® Express C8, 2.7 mu m. The focus is on the technology′s impact on enhancing analytical speed and efficiency (Ali et al., 2012).
  • Development and validation of an HPLC-MS/MS method to determine clopidogrel in human plasma. Use of incurred samples to test back-conversion.: This study details the development of an HPLC-MS/MS analytical method using columns such as the Ascentis® Express C8, 2.7 mu m, aimed at quantifying clopidogrel in plasma, demonstrating the columns utility in clinical pharmacokinetic assessments (Silvestro et al., 2010).
