General description

Triethyl phosphate is an alkyl phosphate. It participates in the thermal transformation of sodium acetate-2-C14 to n-butyl acetate-2-C14.

Application

  • Sensor Technology for Chemical Detection: Triethyl phosphate is utilized in the development of trisaryl phosphoric triamide-based resins for a quartz crystal microbalance sensor, enhancing the detection capabilities for sulfur mustard simulants, which is critical in chemical safety and environmental monitoring (Heo et al., 2024).
  • Flame-Retardant Bio-based Composites: Research highlights the use of triethyl phosphate in creating flame-retardant, energy-storage, and transparent bio-based composites, leveraging natural cellulose templates to enhance both safety and environmental sustainability (Li et al., 2024).
  • Environmental Biodegradation Studies: Triethyl phosphate is instrumental in a novel method for rapidly monitoring organophosphate flame retardants (OPFRs) by liquid-liquid extraction and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, a significant advancement in environmental science for assessing biodegradation (Losantos et al., 2024).
