General description
Triisopropylsilanethiol compound (TIPS-SH) is an organosilicon compound. It is an effective alternative to H2S to prepare unsymmetrical dialkyl sulfides and alkanethiols. During radical reactions, it serves as a polarity reversal catalyst. Furthermore, it serves as a ligand in the Ziegler-Natta polymerization of ethylene. HSTIPS reagent used to prepare 9-BBN-derived alkyl and aryl boranes.
