General description

Propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate (PGMEA) is a photoresist solvent. Its degradation by microorganisms in different soil types has been investigated. An oral reference dose (RfD) value of PGMEA has been obtained from inhalation studies. The solubility of (5-alkylsulfonyloxyimino-5H-thiophen-2-ylidene)-2-methylphenyl-acetonitriles in PGMEA has been analyzed.

Application

Propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate has been used in the development of fluidic channels to be incorporated in a poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS)-based microfluidic device.

Our ability to dictate the colloid geometry is intimately related to self-assembly. The synthesis of anisotropic colloidal particles is currently dominated by wet chemistry and lithographic techniques. The wet chemical synthesis offers limited particle geometries at bulk quantities. Extracorporeal lung assist technology is one of the last options in critical care medicine to treat patients suffering from severe oxygenation and decarboxylation disorders. Platelet activation along with the consequent thrombus formation is a potentially life-threatening complication of this technique.
