Gene Information

human ... KCNA3(3738)

General description

The voltage-dependent potassium channel (Kv1.3/KCNA3) is expressed in the nervous and immune systems. This gene is located on human chromosome 1p13.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Kv1.3/KCNA3 around the phosphorylation site of Tyr135.

Immunogen Range: 101-150

Biochem/physiol Actions

The voltage-dependent potassium channel (Kv1.3/KCNA3) plays a major role in setting the resting membrane potential, cell proliferation, apoptosis and volume regulation. This protein participates in immunomodulation of autoreactive effector and memory T cell-mediated autoimmune diseases. KCNA3 is required for T-cell proliferation and activation.
