Gene Information

human ... MAP3K7(6885)

General description

Anti-TAK1 antibody detects endogenous levels of total TAK1 protein.
The TAK1 (Transforming growth factor β activated kinase 1) gene is mapped to human chromosome 6q15. It encodes for a mitogen-activated protein kinase 7 containing serine-threonine/tyrosine-protein kinase catalytic domain and a coiled-coil domain at the C-terminal.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human TAK1.

Immunogen Range: 161-210

Biochem/physiol Actions

TAK1 (Transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) activated kinase 1) is activated by TGF-β and other inflammatory stimuli such as chemical and physical agents causing stress, cytokines, and microorganism moieties. TAK1 participates in mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK)-p38 signaling pathway. TAK1 is involved in the regulation of osteogenesis. TAK1 is important for productive autophagy.
