L-Leucine p-nitroanilide hydrochloride has been used as a substrate to measure the activity of leucine aminopeptidase (LAP):

for spectrophotometric assays
in the intestinal samples, such as duodenum, jejunum, and ileum[1]
in the hemolymph of Manila clam[2]
