General description

P40, also known as Tumor protein 63, p63, Chronic ulcerative stomatitis protein, CUSP, Keratinocyte transcription factor , KET, Transformation-related protein 63, TP63, Tumor protein p73-like, p73L, p40, or p51, and encoded by the gene TP63/KET/P63/P73H/P73L/TP73L, is a transcriptional activator or repressor depending upon the target gene and the isoform involved. P40 has multiple isoforms. P40 is involved in Notch signaling and plays a role in p53/TP53 dependent apoptosis and epithelial morphogenesis. Moreover P40, developmentally, is required for proper limb formation. P40 is widely expressed in the adult and during development. Some isoforms, such as isoform 10 are primarily expressed in cancerous tissues while others are found only in normal tissues. Mutations in P40 lead to a variety of dysplasias and malformations, including Acro-dermato-ungual-lacrimal-tooth syndrome and Ankyloblepharon-ectodermal defects cleft lip/palate disorder and several more tragic disfiguring syndromes.

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human P40.

Application

Anti-P40 Antibody, clone 11F12.1 is an antibody against P40 for use in IHC (Paraffin) & western blotting.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:500-2,000 dilution from a representative lot detected P40 in human prostate and human kidney tissue.
