Incorrect use of tylosin and tilmicosin could result in allergy and select resistance. To monitor the illegal use of these antibiotics in animals, a monoclonal-based indirect competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ic-ELISA) has been established. Tilmicosin, a semi-synthetic tylosin-derived macrolide antibiotic commonly used by veterinarians, has been shown to possess anti-inflammatory activity. However, possible use in asthma treatment has not yet been studied. In this study, we investigated the anti-inflammatory properties of tilmicosin using a

Our previous studies demonstrated that tilmicosin-loaded hydrogenated castor oil solid lipid nanoparticles (Til-HCO-SLN) are a promising formulation for enhanced pharmacological activity and therapeutic efficacy in veterinary use. The purpose of this work was to evaluate the acute toxicity of Til-HCO-SLN.
