Gene Information

human ... ZEB1(6935)

General description

Zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox 1 (ZEB1), also known as Transcription factor 8 (TCF8) and Negative regulator of IL2 or NIL-2-A zinc finger protein is a member of the Zinc finger-Homeobox (ZFH)-family of repressors and acts as a transcriptional repressor that inhibits interleukin-2 (IL-2) gene expression. ZEB1 has also been implicated in regulating the expression of ATP1A1, E-cadherin, BCL6, and RCOR1 genes. ZEB1 regulates neurogenesis and neuronal differentiation, but is also implicated in tumor formation. ZEB1 is expressed in heart and skeletal muscle. Mutations in ZEB1 have been associated with corneal dystrophy.

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human ZEB1.

Application

Anti-ZEB1 detects levels of ZEB1 proteins & has been published & validated for use in WB.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blot in mouse embryo e11 tissue lysate.

Western Blot Analysis: 1.0 µg/mL of this antibody detected ZEB1 in 10 µg of mouse embryo e11 tissue lysate.

Target description

~200 kDa observed. The calculated molecular weight is 124 kDa, however ZEB1 has been shown at ~180-210 kDa in western blots (Dave, N., et al. (2011). J. Biol. Chem. 286(14):12024-12032).

N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylation, which is modified by the METTL3/METTL14 complex, is a dominant internal modification in mammalian RNA and tightly linked to cancer progression. Here we reveal that METTL3-promoted cell migration, invasion, and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) are associated with expression

A tumor microenvironment is characterized by its altered mechanical properties. However, most models remain unable to faithfully recreate the mechanical properties of a tumor. Engineered models based on the self-assembly method have the potential to better recapitulate the stroma architecture

N6-Methyladenosine (m6A) modification has been implicated in the progression of several cancers. We reveal that during epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), one important step for cancer cell metastasis, m6A modification of mRNAs increases in cancer cells.
