General description

The antibody pair provided in this kit recognizes mouse Pentraxin-related Protein PTX3 / Pentraxin 3.
The pentraxin3 (PTX3) gene encodes for a long PTX3 protein, an acute-phase protein. PTX3 protein is a member of the pentraxin family and is present in several cells and tissues. It is observed during brain inflammatory response and seizure. PTX3 plays a role in angiogenesis, tissue remodeling, and female fertility. It promotes phagocytosis of pathogen and inhibits the phagocytosis of apoptotic cells. The antibody pair provided in this kit recognizes mouse pentraxin-related protein PTX3 / pentraxin 3.
