General description

Tenax® TA is preconditioned stainless steel that is compatible for use with PerkinElmer, Markes, DANI, OI Analytical, and Shimadzu Instrument. It is commonly used as a general adsorbent and efficiently adsorbs many non-polar compounds, such as hydrocarbons, pesticides, or biogenic volatile organic compounds (VOCs) due to its affinity for compounds with a wide range of boiling points from 60 to 300 °C.

It is also suitable for thermal desorption of volatiles because of its good thermal stability and hydrophobicity.
We are committed to bringing you greener alternative products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. Thermal desorption tubes are reusable at least 50 to 100 times, and reduces the usage of accessories like transfer vials, caps, and pipette tips, thus aligns with “Waste Prevention”. Also, these tubes eliminate the usage of toxic solvents like CS2 to extract the VOCs of interest, and thus aligns with “Safer Solvents and Auxiliaries” principle. Click here for more information.

Application

Tenax® TA has been used as an absorbent for:
  • an active sampling of reduced sulfur compounds in ambient air
  • bioaccessibility experiments due to its infinite adsorption performance and recyclability
