The product is sold for Research Use Only. Quality Control testing includes testing for appearance, infrared spectrum, extinction coefficients at 3 different wavelengths, carbon, nitrogen, purity by HPLC, zinc, solubility, and water content. The literature shows that Acridine Orange is used for differential staining of DNA and RNA and a wide range of other uses. The website does list various uses for product 318337. The list however is not all inclusive of the uses for which the dye can be used. It is up to the customer to determine if the dye is acceptable for their intended use(s).
