General description

AmberChrom 50WX2 200-400 Mesh (H+) Cation Exchange Resin is a heat stable, water stable and low molecular weight cationic substance which is capable of purifying approximately 5000-fold by ion-exchange chromatography. Ion-exchange resins have good role as drug delivery systems.
It is a preferred strong cationic exchange (SCX) resin due to its attractive features such as high capacity, easy availability and ease of operation owing to the lower degree of divinylbenzene cross-linking leading to higher recoveries of aromatic amino acids.
Strongly acidic cation exchange resin. This ion-exchange resin has not been specially processed or cleaned. We suggest that it be subjected to a suitable preliminary elution and wash prior to use.

Application

AmberChrom 50WX2 200-400 Mesh (H+) Cation Exchange Resin was used to remove calcium from aqueous samples.
It may be used for the purification of amino acids from plant samples prior to their determination by methyl chloroformate derivatization followed by analysis using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). It may be used as a catalyst for the esterification reaction of hydrolyzed sea mango (Cerebra odollam) oil and as a stationary phase material of ion-exchange column of flow-injection analysis (FIA) system for chemiluminescent analysis of nitrates in aqueous solutions.
