  6. What does the letter K10, k30 after Montmorillonite mean? What should I buy to use high-purity montmorillonite? ( Montmorillonite 뒤에 표기되어있는 k10, k30 이라는 글자는 무엇을 뜻합니까? 높은 순도의 montmorillonite 사용하려면 무엇을 구매해야 하나요? )

    1 answer
    1. K10 and K30 refers to the grade of Montmorillonite.

In K10, the bentonite catalysts of the K series are acid activated and cation exchange capacity is only approx. 30 to 40 mVal/100g (compared to alkaline activated bentonites 70 - 100mVal/100g).

In K30, the Catalyst K30 exhibits approximately 25µval of exchangeable metal ions whereas Ca, Al and Fe dominate.
