General description

Sodium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide solution in ethylene carbonate and dimethylcarbonate, 1.0 M NaTFSI in EC/DMC=50/50 (v/v) is a clear solution of battery grade sodium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (NaTfSI) dissolved in binary mixture of EC/DMC=50/50 (v/v).

Application

The main application of 1.0 M NaTFSI in EC/DMC=50/50 (v/v), battery grade is as an electrolyte for sodium-ion batteries. NaTFSI-based electrolytes have advantages over NaPF6-based electrolytes because they are less sensitive to hydrolysis, safer to handle, and are more stable thermally and electrochemically. NaTFSI offers improved higher thermal stability compared to NaPF6 and NaBF4, and higher conductivity than NaTfO. The blend of ethylene carbonate and dimethyl carbonate achieves a low viscosity and good wettability of most polyolefin separators.[1,2]
