Mineral oil is made up of saturated and aromatic hydrocarbons. It is mainly found in hair oil formulations and liquid emollients used in cosmetics.
Application
Mineral oil has been used:
- in transplantation experiments
- in the preparation of Psuedomonas aeruginosa embedded beads
- for diluting benzaldehyde and 3-octanol, for its use in short-term memory experiments
