Unit Definition

One TRU (Turbidity Reducing Unit = 1 U) is defined as the amount of enzyme that will hydrolyze 50% of hyaluronic acid, determined by a 50% reduction in turbidity, in 30 min at 60°C pH 6.0.

Reconstitution

Following reconstitution, store in the refrigerator (4°C). Stock solutions prepared in water are stable for up to 2 weeks at 4°C and stock solutions prepared in 500 mM acetate buffer, pH 6.0, are stable for up to 1 month at 4°C.

Hyaluronan (HA) is a ubiquitous component of the extracellular matrix. The spatial-temporal localization of HA can be visualized in situ using biotinylated HA binding proteins (HABPs). This assay is sensitive to fixation conditions, and there are currently no best practices
