Gene Information

human ... ADRB2(154)

General description

β-2 Adrenergic Receptor is a member of the seven-transmembrane-domain receptor family. The ADRB2 gene is mapped on the human chromosome at 5q32. β-2 Adrenergic Receptor is a seven-transmembrane protein that consists of α helices. The N-terminal is extracellular whereas the C-terminal is intracellular.

Recombinant adrenergic, β-2-, receptor, surface

Application

Anti-β-2 Adrenergic Receptor antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.

Biochem/physiol Actions

The β-2 adrenergic receptor (β2 adrenoreceptor), also known as ADRB2, is present within a cell membrane. It reacts with adrenaline (epinephrine) as a hormone or neurotransmitter affecting muscles or organs. It may be a risk factor for chronic pain and its polymorphisms may influence labor pain. It contains a common non-synonymous single nucleotide polymorphism. Epinephrine activates ADRB2 impairing keratinocyte migration. β2-adrenoceptor pathway is essential for cardiovascular regulation.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

It is now clear that the beta2-adrenergic receptor continuously oscillates between various conformations in the basal state, and that agonists act to stabilize one or more conformations. It is conceivable that synthetic agonists might be engineered to preferentially confine the
