Potassium bromate is a strong oxidizing agent that can be used in the bromination of deactivated aromatics and in chemical oscillating reactions.

Application

Potassium bromate can be used as:
  • An oxidant in the potentiometric determination of β-lactam drug.
  • A brominating agent for the bromination of ethylacetoacetate to dibromoethylacetoacetate.
