General description

Ethyl methyl carbonate(EMC) is an aprotic, polar, asymmetric carbonic acid ester. We offer Ethyl methyl carbonate Technipur® designed for research with a high purity of 99.9%, very low acid content (≤10 ppm), and very low water content (≤10 ppm). For Smaller SKUs, visit 809934

We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which belongs to one of the four categories of greener alternatives. EMC is an enabling product, it increases the solubility of lithium ions, improving the capacity density and power of batteries. Additionally, it has excellent thermal conductivity and low electrical resistance, which extends the working temperature range of electrolytes, enhances lithium battery safety, and prolongs their service life. EMC plays a crucial role in enhancing battery performance. Click here for more information.

Application

The main application of Ethyl methyl carbonate (EMC) is as a solvent in the electrolyte formulations for lithium-ion batteries. It is often combined with other carbonate solvents, such as ethylene carbonate (EC) and dimethyl carbonate (DMC), to optimize electrolyte properties, including thermal and electrochemical stability. In one of the experiments, it has been established that EMC solvent exhibits better thermodynamic stability for (1, 1, 2, 2-tetrafluoroethyl-2, 2, 3, 3-tetrafluoropropyl ether (TTE) containing electrolytes. It is also used as a solvent in special flavors and intermediates because of its characteristics of both dimethyl carbonate and diethyl carbonate for its methyl and ethyl groups in the formula.

Features and Benefits

  • Ethyl methyl carbonate Technipur®, due to its extremely low water (≤10 ppm) and acid (≤10 ppm) contents are critical for achieving high electrochemical performance.
  • Large sized prepacks tailored to your needs
  • Scalable supply chain for your manufacturing needs
  • Inventory availability is maintained for rapid delivery
