General description

Nickel(II) sulfate hexahydrate is a hydrated nickel salt. It is used as a nickel precursor for the preparation of Ni-based catalysts.

Application

Nickel(II) sulfate hexahydrate (NiSO4 6H2O) can be used as a nickel precursor for the preparation of:
  • Palladium-nickel bimetallic nanoparticles (Pd-Ni) which are used as a catalyst in the Buchwald-Hartwig amination reaction.
  • NiFe2O4 nanoparticles (NPs) applicable for the fabrication of a glucose biosensor.

It can also be used as a recyclable catalyst in:
  • The synthesis of α-aminophosphonates via a one-pot three-component reaction of aromatic aldehydes, primary amines, and diethylphosphite.
  • Trifluoromethylation of arylamine in the presence of Langlois′ reagent (CF3SO2Na) as CF3 source and potassium persulfate (K2S2O8) as initiator.
