General description

Albendazole is a benzimidazole derivative used for the treatment of human gastrointestinal helmintiasis. It inhibits microtubule and blocks the glucose uptake that causes depletion of glycogen stores and lowering formation of adinosine triphosphate (ATP) in the larval and adult stages of susceptible parasite.
Chemical structure: benzimidazole

Application

Albendazole may be used as a reference standard for the determination of albendazole and its major metabolites, albendazole sulphoxide and albendazole sulphone by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method in mice plasma.
Refer to the product′s Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.
