General description
Mouse and human Flt-3 ligand share ~72% homology and both demonstrate cross-species activity.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Flt-3/Flk-2 Ligand (FL, or Flt-3L) is a transmembrane glycoprotein that binds and activates the Flt-3 receptor. Expression of Flt-3 is primarily restricted among hematopoietic cells to the most primitive progenitor cells.
Physical form
Lyophilized, 0.2 μm sterile filtered, with with 0.5x PBS.
Analysis Note
The biological activity is measured by its ability to stimulate the proliferation of human AML5 cells.

Leukemia & lymphoma, 33(1-2), 83-91 (1999-04-08)
FLT3 ligand (FL) acting through its tyrosine kinase receptor FLT3 has pleiotropic and potent effects on hematopoietic cells. The well-described involvement of this ligand-receptor pair in physiological hematopoiesis raised the question whether FL and FLT3 also play a role in
Stem cells (Dayton, Ohio), 14(4), 388-395 (1996-07-01)
The biological activities of the ligand for the Flk2/Flt3 receptor tyrosine kinase (FL) on human hematopoietic cells are reviewed. In in vitro studies, FL shows relatively few effects by itself on the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic cells, but exhibits
Oncogene, 8(4), 815-822 (1993-04-01)
We have developed rabbit polyclonal antibodies to the C-terminus of the flt3-encoded protein, which is a member of the receptor tyrosine kinase family. Immunoprecipitation using this antiserum brings down two protein bands, a major band of 143 kDa and a

Receptor-type tyrosine kinases presenting an extracellular region with five immunoglobulin-like domains, and strongly related by sequence similarities in the intracellular region, constitute a family of receptors involved in development and function of various cell lineages. We have isolated and characterized
