General description

Zinc acetate dihydrate ((CH3COO)2Zn · 2H2O) is hydrated form of zinc acetate. It is bidentate and has covalent character. It is commonly used as a zinc precursor in preparation of zinc oxide nanopowder.

Application

Zinc acetate dihydrate can be used:
  • As a zinc precursor in the synthesis of ZnO nanowires by thermal decomposition method without any catalyst.
  • As a zinc source in the synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles (zinc oxide nanoparticles) with sodium hydroxide by hydrothermal growth method.
