General description

Anti-Rabbit IgG (γ-chain specific)-Peroxidase antibody, Mouse monoclonal is a monoclonal anti-rabbit IgG conjugated to horseradish peroxidase. Monoclonal antirabbit IgG is derived from the RG-96 hybridoma produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from mice immunized with rabbit IgG.
Rabbit IgGs are often used as primary antibodies in several immunological assays. Thus, polyclonal anti-rabbit IgGs are usually used as secondary antibodies in such applications. However, polyclonal antibodies to rabbit IgGs can also cross-react with IgGs from other species, especially with human IgGs, and thereby lead to a lack of specificity in test results. The use of monoclonal anti-rabbit IgG that is specific for only rabbit IgG improves the accuracy of immunological assays and thus, can be useful for various research applications.
The product recognizes an epitope located on the γ (heavy)-chain of rabbit IgG. In immunoblotting, the antibody recognizes both native and denatured forms of rabbit IgG. In ELISA, the antibody is specific for rabbit IgG, and shows no cross-reactivity with rabbit IgA and IgM or human IgG, IgA, and IgM. No cross reaction is observed with IgG from the following species: bovine, cat, chicken, dog, goat, guinea pig, horse, pig, rat, or sheep.
