General description
18:1 stigmasteryl glucose comprises 18:0 (oleic) acyl group at the C6 position in the glucose molecule and is an acyl steryl glucoside (ASG). 18:1 (oleic) is a major ASG in Arabidopsis.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Mutation in UDP-glucose:sterol glucosyltransferase (UGT) enzymes deplete the 18:1 (oleic) and other acyl steryl glucoside (ASG) levels.

Lipids, 47(2), 185-193 (2011-08-11)
Establishment of sensitive methods for the detection of cellular sterols and their derivatives is a critical step in developing comprehensive lipidomics technology. We demonstrate that electrospray ionization tandem (triple quadrupole) mass spectrometry (ESI-MS/MS) is an efficient method for monitoring steryl

Steryl glucosides (SG) are abundant steroid conjugates in plant membranes. Beyond structural roles in lipid bilayers, functions in sugar transport, storage, and/or signalling are predicted. UDP-glucose:sterol glucosyltransferase 80A2 (UGT80A2) and UGT80B1, which share similarity to fungal counterparts, are implicated in
