White′s Basal Salt Mixture has been used:
- as a medium for the precultured spores of Prothalli of Adiantum capillus for the generation of protonemata
- to promote germination and cotton cotyledon unfolding
- as a solidified medium component for culturing A. capillus and as a component of selection medium for gametophyte selection after particle bombardment
