General description

This certified reference material (CRM) is produced and certified in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034. This CRM is traceable to primary material from an NMI, e.g. NIST or NMIJ. Certified content by quantitative NMR incl. uncertainty and expiry date are given on the certificate. Download your certificate at: http://www.sigma-aldrich.com. 4-Phenylphenol belongs to the chemical family of phenylphenols with endocrine-disrupting properties. It is slightly soluble in water but shows solubility in organic solvents such as methanol, acetone, and benzene.

Application

The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques.
4-Phenylphenol CRM can also be used as follows:

  • Multi-residue analysis of 24 endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) from six different chemical families in 10 fish and seafood samples by combining ultrasound-assisted extraction with solid-phase extraction (SPE) followed by gas chromatographic-mass spectrometric (GC-MS) determination
  • Simultaneous determination of six varieties of disrupting chemicals (EDCs) in 13 cereal-based food products by ultrasound-assisted extraction-solid phase extraction-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (UAE-SPE-GC-MS)
  • Evaluation of endocrine-disrupting chemicals in 11 fresh vegetable samples and 7 fruit samples by ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) followed by solid-phase extraction (SPE) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) detection
  • Development and validation of a gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) based method following microwave-assisted derivatization for quantifying 23 EDCs in 33 samples of dairy products
  • Multi-residue determination of 18 preservatives in different vegetable samples by combining dispersive-solid phase extraction (d-SPE) with ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole/linear ion trap mass spectrometry (UHPLC-QTRAP)
