Application

Testosterone has been used as a substrate for UDP-glucuronyltransferase based drug metabolism assays using microsome-encapsulation techniques.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Androgens direct the development of the male phenotype during embryogenesis and at puberty. Testosterone is an androgen that is secreted by the testis. This hormone is converted to dihydrotestosterone in the target tissues where it appears to mediate several biological functions.
