General description
IL-22 is a member of the IL-10 family of regulatory cytokines which includes IL-10, IL-19, IL-20, IL-22, IL-24 and IL-26. Members of this family share partial homology in their amino acid sequences, but they are dissimilar in their biological functions. Produced by T lymphocytes, IL-22 inhibits IL-4 production by Th2 cells, and induces acute phase reactants in the liver and pancreas. IL-22 signals through a receptor system consisting of IL-10R?/CRF2-4 and IL-22R, both of which are members of the class II cytokine-receptor family. Recombinant human IL-22 is a 33.6 kDa non-disulfide-linked homodimeric protein containing of two 147 amino acid polypeptide chains.

Lyophilized from 10 mM NaCitrate, pH 4.0.
Reconstitution
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.5-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex. This solution can be stored at 2-8°C for up to 1 week. For extended storage, it is recommended to further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (example 0.1% BSA) and store in working aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.

It has been reported that the CD4+ T cell is a very important source of interleukin 10 (IL-10), while CD8+ cells produce low amounts. IL-10 exerts several immune stimulating, as well as inhibitory effects. There are at least five novel

Interleukin-22 (IL-22) participates in the modulation of innate immunity and inflammation. This cytokine has important therapeutic potential, such as with ulcerative colitis, liver and lung injury, and infection, in different animal models. We generated a Lactococcus lactis strain that secretes

The interleukin (IL)-23/IL-17A/IL-22 cytokine axis plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of psoriasis, wherein IL-22 effects on epidermal alternations by inhibiting differentiation and inducing keratinocyte proliferation. In this study, we investigated effects of curcumin on IL-22-induced proliferation in a

Interleukin-22 (IL-22) has been recently highlighted owing to its biological significance in the modulation of tissue responses during inflammation. However, the role of IL-22 in carcinogenesis has remained unclear. Here, we investigated the pathophysiological significance of IL-22 expression in gastric

Interleukin-22 (IL-22), one of the cytokines secreted by T-helper 17 (Th17) cells, binds to a class II cytokine receptor containing an IL-22 receptor 1 (IL-22R1) and IL-10R2 and influences a variety of immune reactions. IL-22 has also been shown to
