FFN102 is a pH-responsive fluorescent false neurotransmitter that acts as a dopamine transporter substrate (DAT) and also a substrate for vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT2).
FFN102 is a pH-responsive fluorescent false neurotransmitter that acts as a dopamine transporter substrate (DAT) and also a substrate for vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT2). FFN102 selectively labels dopamine cell bodies and dendrites in ventral midbrain and dopaminergic synaptic terminals in dorsal striatum. Its greater fluorescence emission in neutral than acidic environments allows the visualization of dopamine release at individual presynaptic terminals and in situ pH measurement of catecholamine secretory vesicles.
