S 24795 is a selective partial agonist for the α7-subtype of nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR). S 24795 was shown to be effective at improving learning and memory in various animal models relevant to Alzheimer′s disease and age-related memory loss, and is used in investigating the roles of α7 nAChRs in aging, learning, memory, and cognition.
