Questions

  1. Is additional curing (cross-linking) chemical needed for product 81330, Poly(methylhydrosiloxane)?

    1 answer
    1. product 81330 does not cross-link on its own at temperatures below 200°C. It requires a curing agent, with the most common options being basic materials such as amines, metal oxides, and metal hydroxides. However, caution is advised during the cross-linking process, as too rapid a cross-link can lead to rapid hydrogen gas evolution, which is highly flammable. This risk can be mitigated by using a lower dosing of the base or a weaker basic material.
