General description

TSC Agar Supplement can be used to detect Clostridium perfringens, which are sulfite-reducing bacteria. The agar contains sodium metabisulphite and ferric ammonium citrate, which are indicators of sulphite reduction.

Application

TSC Agar Supplement can be used for the isolation and enumeration of vegetative forms as well as spores from Clostridium perfringens in food, clinical specimens and other material. Clostridium perfringens colonies are fluorescent when illuminated with UV light (360nm). Recommended by the "jSchweizerisches Lebensmittelbuch", chapter 56 E7.
