General description

Formothion is classified under the group of organophosphorus (OP) insecticides utilized for the protection of crops from a variety of sucking pests and some biting and chewing insects. Its mode of action involves the inhibition of cholinesterase enzyme and it is a suspected endocrine disruptor.
