Gene Information

General description

The Ski family of oncogenes includes Ski and Sno (Ski-related novel gene, or Ski-like). Ski family members are nuclear proteins that form homodimers and heterodimers, bind to DNA and function as transcriptional activators and repressors. The Ski proteins regulate TGFß induced gene-specific transcriptional activation by effectively repressing Smad activity and, thereby, inhibit TGFß induced cell growth and extracellular matrix production. Recently, SnoN has been shown to maintain pluripotency through selective repression of mesendodermal genes in human ES cells.

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to amino acids 358-372 of human SnoN protein.

Application

Immunohistochemical Analysis: A 1:50 dilution of this antibody detected SnoN in human skeletal muscle myocytes. Immunohistochemical Analysis: A 1:50 dilution of this antibody detected SnoN in human lung tissue.
Immunocytochemicaly Analysis: A 1:100 dilution of this antibody detected SnoN in H9 human embryonic stem cells.
