General description
AXIS Axon Isolation Devices, 450 µm long channels, 10 devices
HIF-1α is the oxygen sensitive subunit of the hypoxia inducible factor HIF-1 which is an essential mediator of the cellular oxygen-signalling pathway. Under hypoxic conditions HIF-1α activates the transcription of over 40 genes, including those that control glucose uptake, metabolism, angiogenesis, erythropoiesis, cell proliferation, and apoptosis. The expression of HIF-1α is commonly increased in a variety of human tumours, and correlates with poor patient prognosis. Under normoxia this protein interacts with the ubiquitin ligase VHL complex, leading to its polyubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation.
Application
Recombinant human HIF-1α amino acids 331-609, N-terminal c-Myc, GST-tagged. For use in Enzyme Assays. Functions as a substrate in ubiquitination assays.
