General description

PEAK1 belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. PEAK1 is also called Tyrosine-protein kinase SgK269 and Sugen kinase 269. It contains a divergent and possibly inactive eukaryotic protein kinase domain. It has one human paralog, known as SgK223 or pragmin. These two constitute the NKF3 subfamily of protein kinases, found in vertebrates and echinoderms.
