Description

General description

Exbumin^™ is high-purity recombinant human serum albumin with high lysine reactivity. It contains low levels of albumin aggregates and lipids and high concentration of free-thiol/Cys-34 mercapto-albumin. This USA-origin rHSA is animal-free.

Application

ExbuminInvitria is recombinant human serum that acts as carrier protein for fatty acids and growth factors. It is added as an ingredient to classical and custom media formulations. This recombinant variant is recommended for use in absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) pharmacological research; cell culture; drug delivery research; and cryopreservation of cells. ExbuminInvitria has been observed to improve the performance of multiple cell types.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Serum albumin functions as a carrier protein for steroids, fatty acids, and thyroid hormones. They are also vital in regulating the colloidal osmotic pressures of blood. Serum albumins protect the cells against physical or toxins-induced stress.

Preparation Note

To prepare stock solutions, gently dissolve Exbumin in DPBS, PBS or basal media at a concentration of 50-100mg/mL. If needed, allow Exbumin to completely dissolve overnight at 4°C in a dark environment. Filter sterilization with a 0.8μm filter followed by a 0.2μm filter is recommended. Liquid solutions can be stored for 4 weeks at 4°C in the dark.
