General description

2-Ethyl-1-hexanol is an industrial chemical widely used in the production of polyvinyl chloride(PVC) plasticizers and is a potent indoor air pollutant emitted mainly from furniture or carpets with a PVC backing.
This substance is listed on the positive list of the EU regulation 10/2011 for plastics intended to come into contact with food. Find all available reference materials for compounds listed in 10/2011 here

Application

2-Ethyl-1-hexanol may be used as a reference standard for the determination of 2-Ethyl-1-hexanol in drinking water by gas chromatography with flame ionization detection.
