General description

Chromobox protein homologue 7 (Cbx7) is a member of the mammalian chromobox family of proteins. As a component of the Polycomb repressive complex 1 (PRC1), Cbx7, is involved in the maintenance and prolongation of cultured epithelial cell lifespan, and has been shown to function independently of BMI-1 in the repression of INK4a/ARF, a known tumor suppressor locus. Cbx7 is also able to regulate cellular lifespan through maintaining CDKN2A repression. Studies have shown Cbx7 to be up-regulated in follicular lymphoma, suggesting potential as a human oncogene.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes Cbx7 at the C-terminus.

Immunogen

Epitope: C-terminus
GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to the C-terminus of mouse Cbx7.

Application

Anti-Cbx7 Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody for detection of Chromobox protein homolog 7 (Cbx7) also known as hromobox protein homolog 7 & has been validated in WB & IP.

Polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2) mediates H3K27me3 deposition, which is thought to recruit canonical PRC1 (cPRC1) via chromodomain-containing CBX proteins to promote stable repression of developmental genes. PRC2 forms two major subcomplexes, PRC2.1 and PRC2.2, but their specific roles remain

Canonical targeting of Polycomb repressive complex 1 (PRC1) to repress developmental genes is mediated by cell-type-specific, paralogous chromobox (CBX) proteins (CBX2, 4, 6, 7, and 8). Based on their central role in silencing and their dysregulation associated with human disease

The CBX family of proteins is central to proper mammalian development via key roles in Polycomb-mediated maintenance of repression. CBX proteins in differentiated lineages have chromatin compaction and phase separation activities that might contribute to maintaining repressed chromatin. The predominant

The Polycomb system modifies chromatin and plays an essential role in repressing gene expression to control normal mammalian development. However, the components and mechanisms that define how Polycomb protein complexes achieve this remain enigmatic. Here, we use combinatorial genetic perturbation

Polycomb-repressive complex 1 (PRC1) has a central role in the regulation of heritable gene silencing during differentiation and development. PRC1 recruitment is generally attributed to interaction of the chromodomain of the core protein Polycomb with trimethyl histone H3K27 (H3K27me3), catalyzed
