Goat serum is pooled from a normal donor herd.

Application

Goat serum has been used in:
  • immunohistochemistry
  • immunocytochemistry
  • double immunofluorescence
  • enzyme immunoassays (EIAs)
Normal goat serum may be used as a blocking agent or negative control in immunoassays. For immunohistochemistry and immunocytochemistry, goat serum was used between 1%-20% as blocking agent in various studies.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Goat serum can be effectively used for routine culture of fish cells.
