Gene Information

human ... SP7(121340)

General description

SP7 is a zinc-finger containing transcription factor that regulates BMP6-induced osteoblast differentiation.
Rabbit Anti-SP7 antibody recognizes bovine, human, mouse, and rat SP7.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the C terminal region of human SP7

Application

Rabbit Anti-SP7 antibody is suitable for use in western blot (0.125μg/ml) and immunohistochemical (4-8μg/ml) assays.

Biochem/physiol Actions

SP7 is a C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factor of the SP gene family and a putative master regulator of bone cell differentiation.

Sequence

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: RTHGEPGPGPPPSGPKELGEGRSTGEEEASQTPRPSASPATPEKAPGGSP

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

The transcription factor osterix (Sp7) is essential for osteoblastogenesis and bone formation in mice. Genome wide association studies have demonstrated that osterix is associated with bone mineral density in humans; however, the molecular significance of osterix in human osteoblast differentiation
